Answer:Copy link to Answer: to clipboard

Within the Deskpro On-Premise problem checker, you have the option to set up email notifications. From the main menu navigate to Services > Problems

Here you have a Notification Settings box.

Here you can enable email notifications for any new issues that appear in the problem checker.

Note

Any existing issues will not be reported via email, only issues that occur after notifications are enabled will generate an email.

To set up the email alerts you will need to configure the following details:

Host:
This is the SMTP host address, examples of this are below. If you are using a custom SMTP mailbox please speak to your email admin to get these details.

  • smtp-mail.outlook.com - outlook

  • smtp.gmail.com - google

Port: 587 is set as the default for secure SMTP. This is fine to use in most cases, if you're using a custom mailbox, please confirm with your administrator what the correct port is to use.

Username/Password: These are the Mailbox login details, the account that you specify here will be used as the alert mail sender.

Allow Insecure Certificates: This is a toggle on/off option that allows you to use invalid certificates when sending the problem checker emails. This can be used in situations such as having a shared mail server.

Recipient Details: This is the list of recipients that you want to receive the email alerts. You have the option to set the level of minimum severity of alerts that are sent to the specified email address.

Once you have the settings added, you can check the configuration by sending a test email:

This will open a new bar that shows you the test message being sent and who it is being sent to:

If the test email is not able to send you will get a message detailing the issue, for example if the wrong credentials are used:

Once you are able to test with no issues and are happy the correct configutation is in place, click Save Settings and a new page will open advising that the notification set up has been saved correctly.
