Step 1 Copy link to Step 1 to clipboard

From within your ESXi/vSphere controller, press Create/Register VM.

Select Deploy a virtual Machine from an OVF or OVA file and press Next.

Enter any name for your new virtual machine.

Browse for the OVA file, or drag and drop this into the window then press Next.

Select your preferred storage type and datastore. This is the hard disk or file system you will store your VM on. Press Next.

Select your preferred Network mapping, you may have a specific network you wish to install this on.

Select your preferred Disk provisioning. In most cases Thin is the best option (default) to conserve space.

Leave "Power on automatically" ticked if you wish to start using the controller immediately. Press Next.

Step 5 Copy link to Step 5 to clipboard

Review your settings, and press Finish if you are happy. Your new Deskpro controller VM is now being provisioned.

Check Recent Tasks or Host >> Monitor >> Tasks to review progress. Do not close the browser/console at this time, as this may interrupt the upload and creation procedure.

When the VM is created, open up the console. After the VM boots up, you should see a welcome screen. You can navigate the following screens with the arrow keys and the tab key.

You will be prompted to set a new root password for your server

If your installation does not detect an assigned IP address you can manually configure a static IP

After selecting the interface you want to use, you will then be prompted for the IP configuration details

Once that is complete, select the IP address associated with your server. If you use a NAT IP to a local IP, select your local IP.

Your new OPC should now be installed, and you should see a URL for the OPC web interface in the console window.
