Question: I have a Deskpro license, but don't know what type of license I have or where to add it during the instance setup process.

Answer: Currently we have 3 methods of license validation during setup of your helpdesk instance.

Note

You don't have to provide the license on instance creation. When Deskpro has created the instance and you have logged in, you will be directed to the license page if you have not added one yet.

  • License key - Generated by Deskpro support and sent to you via email

  • License code - A text file containing your license code

  • Paste code - The license code text string from within the license code file

During setup on an instance, you have the card "License":

License Key This method is used when you send a license request to Deskpro Support to be authorized. A license key will be sent to you via email.

Note

Your license key must be validated if it is supplied. You can leave this empty to enter the license code later in the instance admin area.

License Code

This method involves uploading your license text file that has been previously provided by Deskpro. You can drag the license file to the box or click upload to open a file manager upload tool.

Paste Code This method is similar to the license code method as it has you in paste the code into a text box rather than uploading it.

Once a license has been applied and validated you can view the license infomation at the top of the instance page in the admin panel. You can view the days left on your plan, the number of created agents, total allowed agents, and the plan type:
