Question: I am importing my older Deskpro helpdesk into the On-Premise Controller, I have followed the migration guide and have generated the URL for my helpdesk. How do I import this into the new version?
You can use any location to host the generated backup file as long as the file is accessible. This guide will use the link generated by an older version of Deskpro.

Answer: To import an earlier version of Deskpro you first need to navigate to Instances > New > Import
If you are importing a URL generated from an older version of Deskpro (v5) you need to select it from the next menu and then confirm that your instance is ready to migrate to Horizon.
From the instance creation menu, you have the card "Import File", change the option to "URL Download" and add the URL location of your file. Click "Validate" to check the file is accessible.
Once you have given your instance a unique name and configured your other instance options (please see our Horizon migration guides for this) click continue to import the file you linked into Deskpro and create a new instance using it.
