Now your helpdesk is imported, there are a few final steps you need to take.

If users access your helpdesk directly. you will need to change your DNS to point visitors to your new helpdesk’s IP address. This is usually done by changing the A record in your DNS configuration. If you have any additional brands, and do not have them configured as a CNAME record to your default hostname, you will need to change the DNS records for those too.

If you use a CDN or a Reverse Proxy in front of your helpdesk, you will need to update that to point to the new address. Please be aware that as the OPC now enforces SSL as standard, you will need to ensure you are directing the users to https://<your_helpdesk_IP> to prevent redirect loops.

If you have direct access to your helpdesk, you will need to configure an SSL certificate for your domains in the OPC. If you have purchased an SSL certificate, you would need to upload that via the Domain’s Manage settings. If not, you can generate a LetsEncrypt certificate or a Self-Signed certificate.

If you are using a CDN or Reverse Proxy, these will usually handle the SSL certificate to the user, so the default certificate should work with those.

If you use an external usersource (such as Active Directory, or a Single Sign On service) to login, you will need to test those logins to confirm they are still working.

Warning

If you find you are unable to login to your helpdesk due to an external usersource failing, you can generate a temporary login token to gain access to your helpdesk by running the following command on your new server:

sudo opc inst -i {helpdeskID} php -- dpv5/bin/console dp:login-token {email_address}
copy

You will need to replace {helpdeskID} with the ID of your helpdesk, and the {email_address} with the email address of an admin user.

At this point, you may want to check your helpdesk to confirm that you have the correct number of tickets, and users have migrated correctly.

If you use ElasticSearch, you can compare the indexes between your v5 server and Horizon server once your initial index has completed.

To do that, go to Admin > Server > Elasticsearch on your v5 server, and select ElasticSearch in the Services section of the Instance page of your OPC.

Both pages should have tables showing the count of database records which can be used for a 1:1 comparison of your servers.
