There are multiple methods to install the Deskpro On-Premise Controller. The document below covers any requirements to use these methods, and the pros and cons of each.

  • A fresh installation of a supported Linux distro.

  • Extremely configurable for advanced users.

  • Can be installed on a Virtual Machine, Cloud or Baremetal server.

Note


As Windows does not currently support the dependencies which Deskpro requires, the Windows installer will install a virtual machine using either VirtualBox or Hyper-V.

As this would cause nested virtualization with significant performance degradation if installed on cloud or a virtual machine, the installer will refuse to complete if it detects virtualized hardware.

  • A hypervisor running either VMWare or Hyper-V, or a baremetal computer running VirtualBox.

  • Simple install does not require prior Linux knowledge
