In the Publish app, clicking on the top of the Navigation Panel you will see the tab for Searches.
Searches allows Admins and Agents to create specific filters stored as Searches. You create a search and then saving it into this area so you can return content that match the criteria in a single click.
Creating Searches
Searches can be created by Admins at a global level. As an Agent you can also create your own searches as well which are stored under the 'Mine' header. To create a search, you click the field in the Navigation Panel with a pen that says New Search.
This will open a search bar in the content panel where you can construct your search using FQL
Using FQL
Searches are created with FQL, so rather than type a string or ID, etc, into the search bar you will need to construct a query. You can find a detailed guide to using FQL here which we would advise you to read through and refer back to as needed. At a simple level, to construct a search you will need to define:
What you want to search
The parameters for that search
You can find all the fields that are available for basing your searches on in the FQL Field Reference
Saving and Managing Searches
Once you've added your query parameters to the search bar you can select one of the three options on the right hand side:
Play Icon - Runs the search and returns matching relevant content
Floppy Disk Icon - Saves the search. This will add it to the list of Saved Searches in your Agent navigation panel.
Cross - Clears the search.
Renaming and Deleting Searches
When you first save your search it will show up under the Mine section with the title as the search query. Obviously this isn't very readable but if you hover over the Search this will show a modal where you can edit its properties. Click Rename to change the name of the query to something more useful.
You can also select the garbage icon to delete the search. If you're an Admin, you can also change the Search to being a Team or a Global Search.
These options are only available for searches you have created yourself. If the search was created by an Admin you will not be able to edit or delete them.
