Users who have developed widgets may want to export them as app packages, for example to share with Deskpro developers to debug or if they have multiple instances they may want to export from one and import into another.

Export a widget

Export your widget so that it can be shared on other Deskpro help desks, saved as a backup, or shared with us at the Deskpro team for support. After a widget has been created under Admin>Apps and integrations>Widgets, clicking on it will open a drawer. The export tab allows you to download a .json file which contains all of the settings for the widget you have created.

Import a widget

In Admin>Apps and integrations>Widgets you will see an import widget button on the right hand side. Use this to upload and install any widgets you have saved locally in .json files from previous exports

This will open a drawer where you can then upload your saved widget. Make sure the widget you are uploading has been packaged as a .json file.
