Installing the OPC on Windows

To install the On-Premise Controller on Windows you will need to download the installer from here.

If you are using Windows Hyper-V Hypervisor for VM management the Deskpro installer will automatically download and run the Deskpro VM inside your Hyper-V environment. If you do not currently have a hypervisor the installer with automatically install Hyper-V.

Note


If you are using Windows home edition VirtualBox will be installed and used instead of Hyper-V due to Windows licensing constraints.

Once downloaded, run the executable from the downloaded location, this will install the On-Premise controller

Once the install is complete click next to continue with the installer

The installer with then look for previous versions of Deskpro and any installed Hypervisors. Clicking next will then give you the network settings page

You can use the default settings suggested by the installer, or select "Use custom settings" to specify network settings manually. Be sure to check the network settings are correct and do not overlap with networks used on your network.

The setup summary screen will explain which Hypervisor will be used and if it needs to be installed and confirm the network settings that will be used for the virtual machine

Click 'Setup' to download and install the needed packages. Once complete click 'Finish'.

Accessing the OPC in Windows

Once you have installed the OPC a browser window will open automatically and prompt you to create a master password

Your setup is now complete and the OPC will load to the create instance page
