If you are running MySQL and/or Elasticsearch on an external server you can disable these services locally for increasead performance on your OPC and helpdesk.

If these services are disabled, you will not be able to specify a local database or Elasticsearch for any newly created instances.

Note

The option to disable these services will not be availble if Elasticsearch and/or MySQL in use by an instance managed by the OPC.

Warning

The OPC checks for other Deskpro instances using MySQL. If you are using a local install of MySQL for anything else turning this service will stop those other applications from working.

If you can turn the database service off the services page for MySQL will have a banner advising that it is possible.

Click the 'service active' toggle to off and click save to disable the service

The banner will then change to a message advising that MySQL is not running and can be re-activated with the toggle.
