The first method of upgrading your helpdesk is to install a brand new copy of Deskpro, and then move your existing helpdesk to the new installation, and then run the database upgrade script.
Doing it this way means you can configure the server in isolation and make sure everything is set up in an optimal way. You can even use the new installation as a way to test Deskpro’s new features before you upgrade your live helpdesk.
1. First, ensure your current helpdesk is using build #443 by using the standard upgrader in your current version. Updating to DeskPro #443
2. Next, install a brand new version of Deskpro. Refer to any of the guides in this manual as listed on the left.
3. Finally, follow the guide Migration Preparation to move your existing data into place.
4. If you have a data/encryption-key.bin file, copy it to the config/ directory.
